The three piece, top entry system is used where a tubing adapter (bonnet) is required. In addition to the upper and lower connectors, a transmission element is used to privide the required extra length to extend through the bonnet.

To convert existing wellheads to the three piece, top entry system, a bonnet and tubing hanger change out is required.
