The choke panel
is a NEMA 3R enclosure, painted white and can be mounted on the side of
the switchboard or step-up transformer (where applicable). The panel
houses:
1. The choke,
designed to isolate the high voltage from the low voltage DC signal.
2. High voltage current transformers (VSD applications only).
3. Backspin probes (where applicable).

The COSCO surface interface panel consists of an RTU
that can be mounted in the switchboard if required. The surface
interface panel performs the following functions:
1. Provides the
power supply for the down hole sensor electronics. This DC voltage is
transmitted along the main ESP power cable to the sensor.
2. Reads and processes the data signal that is transmitted from the
down hole sensor.
3. Communicates to a motor controller or a data logger using the MODBUS
Protocol. The motor controller regularly polls the surface interface
RTU for the down hole tool readings.
